Multiple Birth Parents' Experience with Maternity Services Survey - http://ow.ly/o59mR
Here's an important international survey for multiple-birth families about your experience with maternity health care services, before and after the birth.
Multiple Births Canada (MBC) was asked to partner with TAMBA (Twins and Multiple Births Association-UK) and other national multiple-birth support organizations to conduct a survey worldwide about maternity health care services for multiples. TAMBA would like to learn about the care provided within their country in order to provide recommendations to their hospitals, and look at how that care compares to what is provided to multiple-birth families in other countries.
In addition to TAMBA's goals for this survey, MBC is also looking for your views on the care you received when expecting your multiples and shortly after their birth. The survey results will be broken down by country, providing significant information for MBC about the services our families receive in Canada which may be used to guide future work of MBC.
If you haven't already, please take part in this survey, and please share the survey with anyone you know who has had multiple births. It should take about 10 minutes.
If you have any questions please contact Kimberley Weatherall at email@example.com.

In September 2012, easyDNA Canada kindly donated a voucher for one free Twin Zygosity DNA Test to enable one of our lucky members to confirm whether their twins were identical or fraternal. DNA testing is the only proven scientific method with 100% accuracy in its results. The voucher was won by Heather and Mark during a silent auction held at the 2012 Volunteer Development Retreat in Mattawa, ON. They have since completed the zygosity testing and have the following testimonial about their experience…
“Back in September of 2012, my husband and I won a gift certificate for a Twin Zygosity DNA test done from a company called easyDNA on our twins to see if they were identical (monozygotic) or fraternal (dizygotic). Due to our busy schedules we put the gift certificate to the side and waited until the right time to start up our investigation. Towards the end of May of 2013, I emailed easyDNA to ask them what I needed to do in order to redeem our gift certificate. I received an emailed response the next day saying Congratulations and that all I needed to do was submit my home address and telephone number and the testing kit would be mailed out to me. The email explained the contents of the kit and also explained how long the testing would take. I emailed my information back to Kristy White, the Customer Service Representative that had contacted me and the next day I received another email stating that my testing kit had been sent out.
In a couple of days, we received an envelope in the mail that contained our testing kit. There were three different coloured envelopes that contained the swabs that would be used to collect the DNA from our girls, detailed instructions on how to perform the collection and storing of DNA and a consent form to have the test performed.
About a week later, I collected the DNA from my daughters – using the swabs provided in the envelopes and my husband and I filled in all the necessary areas on the consent form and after a few days we sent the documentation and DNA collection back to easyDNA through registered mail (it was suggested to us to use registered mail so that we could track it). Once easyDNA received our envelope we were sent an email stating that they had received it and would be starting up the testing process. In the email a due date was given to us (date and time included) as to when we should get our results back.
On the date stated in their email we received our results from our DNA test (and in case you were wondering our girls are dizygotic – or fraternal). They send an attachment showing the fifteen (15) different systems tested and the results for each and include overall statistical results and a statement of results as well.
The Twin Zygosity DNA testing process was very easy to do and submit for testing, and easyDNA takes great care in conducting their tests and getting them done in a timely manner.”
Multiple Births Canada (MBC) would like to thank easyDNA for their kind donation and look forward to working with them to bring this service to our members. As our preferred supplier they will be giving back to MBC 10% of the proceeds of any sales to our members.
If you have any questions about Twin Zygosity Testing we recommend that you contact easyDNA Canada directly.
